Now that summer’s over, it’s time to celebrate
a joyous holiday that never ends
Pumpkins, Pilgrims, presents have been rolled into one
and they’re dragging out the merchandise again...
Chorus:
Have a Happy Hallowgivingmas and a Happy New Year, too.
From the end of the summer to the end of December,
it’s a marketing dream come true.
There are pilgrims and witches ‘round the Hallowgivingmas tree
with spiders on the mistletoe and squash on the evergreens.
We’ll dress up like ghosts and
shepherds and march from door to door
singing songs of peace and pumpkins though we don’t really know what
for.
Chorus
There are goblins by the manger where the wise men used to
be
and little baby whats-his-name is crying, "Trick or treat!"
There’s a Mayflower on the rooftop with Santa at the helm
and monsters making pumpkins pies with the Indians and the elves.
Chorus
Everybody’s getting ready for the big Hallowgivingmas dance.
We’ll be dunking for fruit cake and carving up the yams.
Eating turkey and candy canes, by the light of a Harvest moon
As Frankenstein and Frosty sing those old Hallowgivingmas tunes.
"Deck the halls with bats and cornstalks, fa la la la la, la la la la!"
Chorus
Have a Happy Hallowgivingmas
and may peace on earth prevail
with joy and goodwill to the world
and record-breaking retail sales!
