I'm a Kindergarten Teacher

CHORUS:
    I'm a kindergarten teacher, yes I am.
It's twenty of the best jobs I've ever had.
I've got a resume that runs up and down the hall
I'm a kindergarten teacher, I do it all!

I'm a private detective in search of missing mittens.
I'm a psychoanalyst and a dietitian.
Today I’ve been Houdini, undoing tangled knots,
then a doctor and a nurse and it's barely ten o'clock.

CHORUS

I’m a fashion consultant, I’m an entertainer.
I’m a family therapist and an art curater.
I’m a gourmet cook serving crackers and juice,
And a wild game hunter when the hamster gets loose!

CHORUS
Some days I love my job, some days it makes me crazy.
But when I think I can’t go on, I look out at those faces.
Then I remember the one thing I know is true,
This is the most important work on Earth that I could do.

I’m a soccer referee, and social secretary.
I’m a costume maker, and I run the library.
I’m the Velveteen Rabbit, I’m the three little pigs.
I can do Captain Hook, and a pretty mean Grinch.

 CHORUS:
Watch them grow, it's a magical garden
Watch them grow, every blossoming child
Here am I, like the simplest of farmers,
full of wonder and pride as I watch them grow.

Here in my garden, I tend to the flowers
And what they’ll become, well you just never know
A doctor, a dancer, a dad or a mother,
So I just plant the seeds, say a prayer and watch them grow

CHORUS

This one's a daisy, this one's a sunflower.
This one, I think, may be some kind of rose.
Each one designed to be something quite special.
So you water with love, then you stand back and watch them grow.

There are no weeds here, just little seeds here
And all that they need is the warmth of a hug,
Occasional sprinkles of kindness and patience,
Keep them out of the cold, tend them with hands of love
